About Us
Maqueda Lodge is a small family owned boutique lodge situated in Marloth Park – so close to the world-famous Kruger National Park that our guests frequently hear lions and other animals calling – especially at night. Our location means that the closest entrance to Kruger is a short 15 minutes’ drive from the lodge. In addition, we are also ideally situated to enjoy day tours of the fascinating country of Swaziland as well as the famous Blyde River Canyon – part of the beautiful Panorama Route.
Maqueda Lodge is surrounded by the natural beauty of the African bush. Often we have non-human visitors to the lodge such as giraffe and zebra as Marloth Park is an area containing the general game. Our bird life is fascinating and abundant around the lodge itself. This means that for those guests that would like some exercise it is possible to walk unaccompanied to the Kruger fence line where you may see a variety of animals within Kruger come down to the Crocodile River. The observation point is a mere 15 minutes walk from the lodge where you can sit and relax or continue walking for as long as you want to!
With only 12 rooms we pride ourselves on a personal and relaxed atmosphere for our guests. We are very fortunate that a significant number of our guests return repeatedly and become more like family members.
